Koo Jun-yup Faces Health Concerns “Tearfully Bid Farewell to Barbie Hsu with Gaunt Appearance, Suffering Muscle Loss”

On February 13, Taiwanese media outlets reported that Koo Jun-yup has significantly weakened.
Citing a source close to Koo Jun-yup who attended the farewell ceremony held at Barbie Hsu’s residence, the media stated, “Koo Jun-yup has been experiencing severe muscle loss recently. His muscles have almost disappeared, and he looked extremely gaunt as he tearfully bid farewell to Barbie Hsu.”
Meanwhile, on February 8, CLON’s Kang Won-rae revealed messages exchanged with Koo Jun-yup, who is mourning the loss of his wife, Barbie Hsu.
Kang Won-rae posted a screenshot of their conversation on social media, writing, “If I meet Jun-yup, I think we’ll cry a lot together. I just hope he takes care of his health. My deepest condolences to the deceased.”

In the shared messages, Kang Won-rae offered words of support to Koo Jun-yup, saying, “I don’t know what words could truly comfort you. Take care of yourself and stay strong.” In response, Koo Jun-yup replied, “Thank you, Won-rae… I’ll try to endure this. I feel like I’d cry if we talked on the phone, so I’m just sending you a message instead,” revealing his struggle to hold back his emotions.
Kang Won-rae continued to encourage him, saying, “Stay strong, Jun-yup,” and shared lyrics from CLON’s hit song “Kung Ddari Sha Bah Rah,” reminiscing about their past together.

Previously, Kang Won-rae’s wife, Kim Song, also expressed her condolences on social media, writing, “I’m sorry I couldn’t help. The only thing I can do is pray.” She added, “It may not feel real right now, but don’t hold back, cry as much as you need to. Don’t force yourself to be okay. Cry without regrets so that you can bring a proper ending to your love.”
She also paid tribute to Barbie Hsu, saying, “I pray that Hee-won (Barbie Hsu’s Korean name), who used to call me ‘unnie, unnie’ in her adorable voice, can now rest in peace.”
Barbie Hsu tragically passed away on February 3 due to acute pneumonia caused by the flu while traveling in Japan. She and Koo Jun-yup reunited after more than 20 years and married in 2022, but just before their third wedding anniversary, her sudden passing has left many heartbroken.
